Citizens Bank of Florida is the oldest independent bank in Orange and Seminole counties. It was chartered in July of 1946 under the name of The Citizens Bank of Oviedo. (The bank adopted a new name in 2006 as it was growing and expanding.) The bank was chartered for the purpose of serving the residents of Oviedo and the surrounding areas of Chuluota, Geneva, Winter Springs, Winter Park and Longwood. We attribute much of our success to our customers and that we have stayed loyal to the basics of banking and servicing the needs of the communities we serve in. Our management philosophy is to invest our customers' deposits in local, not foreign loans; pay fair rates on deposits and charge fair rates on loans. The world of financial services has changed a great deal since 1946, but the formula for a successful institution remains the same: determine values to guide the organization and apply them every day in relationships with customers, employees, and communities.
